Moody Wedding At Floral The Venue | San Diego, CA

Today I'm excited to share all the details from this gorgeous moody wedding at Flora the Venue in downtown San Diego, CA. If you aren't familiar with Flora the Venue, you seriously should be! It's one of the most unique venues in San Diego, as it can work with so many different styles and aesthetics. It's modern yet vintage; detailed yet simple; unique yet classic; industrial yet warm; and indoors yet outdoors. It's white walls mesh with nearly any color scheme and the abundance of greenery and foliage make it feel so inviting.

Reflecting back on how this day evolved is such a unique story as there weren't months or weeks of planning. Instead, Megan from Moonlight Floral was given extra flowers and decided she wanted to put together a creative project; meaning, she had less that 3 days to pull together all the details for a glamorous editorial shoot. Now, that's crazy talk if you ask me!

Somehow she managed to create a stunning mood board. sent it out to all of her favorite vendors and asked them to to put together anything that matched the aesthetic. And voila! What you see here is what was created. With that being said, I have to say that it is truly amazing what happens when you simply put your trust in vendors and just let them go.

Now, as much I as I wish I could take credit for this gorgeous concept here. I can't. That was all Megan! I actually didn't catch wind of this shoot until the night prior and reached out to see if she needed any help styling details on the day of editorial. To my surpirse, she did! Next thing I know, I'm pulling together anything I can find at my house (and in my stash of goodies!) that would pair well with the aesthetic. The next day was truly magical and I couldn't have been happier with the turnout.

On a side note, the timing of this shoot couldn't have come at a better time for me. This was put together back in June, when the realities of COVID really started to hit home and when my creativity was at an all time low. This shoot was what I needed. It brought out my creativity and me back in the groove about being exciting about the future of weddings again. :)
