If we could go back to relive Emily and Dill's wedding at The Guild Hotel, we would in a heartbeat! This special day was spent with the couple's closest family and friends, and the love their loved ones shared for Emily and Dill was palpable.
The couple met when they both were new to the San Diego area, and were actually next door neighbors in their apartment complex. They clicked the very first time they met, and an unintentional first date began after they both realized they didn't have food in either of their pantries. They ended up going out to eat, talking for hours, and the rest is history! They both knew almost immediately that life together would simply be much sweeter!
Emily and Dill fell in love with The Guild Hotel's modern and classic aesthetic, which aligned with the exact vibe they were going for for their wedding. Their color scheme was primarily black and white, with hints of blush. Emily loved the look of baby's breath mixed with blooms to create a luxurious feel throughout the entire wedding. Getting Ready
Emily and her bridesmaids got ready at a cute Air B&B near Balboa Park, which was just 10 minutes away from The Guild Hotel. Their morning was filled with laughter, mimosas, and a few happy tears. Emily did a first look with her bridesmaids, and their heartfelt reaction set the mood for the entire rest of the day. Dill and his groomsmen had a relaxed morning getting ready at The Guild.
First Look
Emily headed over to The Guild in a sparkling Rolls Royce, to do her first look with her soon to be husband! She was so excited, and the happy tears were flowing even before she went to go tap his shoulder for the first look! These two had the sweetest moment together, soaking in the last few moments before they officially become husband and wife.
Wedding Ceremony: The Courtyard at The Guild Hotel
Emily and Dill's wedding ceremony took place in the outdoor courtyard. This was actually the first time that The Guild Hotel held a ceremony in this spot, but after seeing how gorgeous it turned out, we don't think it will be the last time a ceremony is held here! The couple had a vision of utilizing the fireplace as their ceremony background, with a floral installation growing along the sides, and candles flickering on the inside. The aisle was lined with dozens of rose petals and more pillar candles, creating the most romanic ambiance. Emily and Dill both walked down the aisle with their parents, which was so special. Their "flower boy" almost stole the show with his petal tossing skills, but Emily and Dill's love was truly the spotlight, especially with their heartfelt personal vows to each other.
Wedding Reception: The Grace Ballroom Courtyard
After the ceremony finished, guests headed out to the courtyard and down the floral lined staircase to be greeted with Emily and Dill's signature drinks- a Charcoal Margarita and Lychee Martini. How fun are those?! Guests were able to mix and mingle while eating delicious appetizers, until everyone took their seats for Emily and Dill's grand entrance. They shared their first dance under their custom monogram, making for the perfect photo op. Emily and Dill made their rounds to each table, to greet all of their guests, until it was time to hit the dance floor. Everyone had a blast with Pixster's photo booth, and Emily and Dill snuck away to take some adorable bar pictures in the hotel lobby.
Fun Fact: Emily and Dill have the "meet cute" that we all dream of! They first met in the elevator of the apartment building, and quickly realized that not only did they live on the same floor, but were actually next door neighbors! They clicked instantly, and have not looked back since. It was only fitting for them to end the night right where their love story began!
