While planning a wedding is always more stressful than anticipated, it is extremely important to enjoy this time as an engaged woman! It is too easy to get caught up in the “To-Do’s” and the time you think you don’t have. Make time and use it wisely - First and foremost, allow yourself time to sit down and enjoy this moment of being newly engaged. From there, start thinking about general things you’d like and get to it! Remember a little goes a long way, so if you dedicate a little time each day to planning, things will be completed before you know it!
Create a schedule/ timeline - Whether created by a wedding coordinator or on your own, a timeline is essential in the planning process. Schedule what needs to be done at what time leading up to your wedding and stick to it! Be honest with yourself about what is reasonable and what will keep you on track to be ready in time.
Delegate Tasks - With so much to do, you will not be able to take care of every little thing on your own and remain sane at the same time. Don’t be afraid to assign different tasks to trusted people…you won’t regret the extra help!
Allow yourself to be nervous - It is completely normal to feel a little anxious about the big day and all the things that need to be done before then. Allow yourself to feel those emotions and be honest with yourself. Acknowledging those feelings will help you to get over them and focus on how exciting this time of your life is, instead of stressing over it.
Stay connected with you fiancé - With little free time on your hands and so much to do, it’s easy to forget the whole reason you’re planning a wedding. Make time for date nights and quality alone time. Taking little breaks from planning every once in a while will ease your stress and make it more enjoyable when you get back into it.
