I GOT MARRIED
For the first time in my life, the tables were turned and I was the bride. I was the one deciding what was important to me and I was the one deciding where I wanted to spend my money.
Do you know what I realized? I was DRASTICALLY different from all the couples I was working with on a daily basis. The experience of being a bride changed the way I looked at weddings. It made me realize that spending a fortune and hiring a planner isn't the right move for many couples. It also made me realize that I sincerely wanted to find a way to educate, guide and inspire those couples who were just like me.

Soon after getting married I heard a staggering statistic. Only 26% of couples hired a wedding planner in 2016. TWENTY SIX PERCENT. I knew that not every couple wanted (or could afford) a coordinator, but I never assumed it was that few.
Hearing that number made me sad. Not sad because they weren't hiring me; sad because they didn't have the guidance they needed. It made sad to think that we, as wedding planners, were failing. Our job was to teach and guide engaged couples through the planning process, yet we weren't doing that for nearly 75% of couples. Don't those 75% deserve our help as well?
