Take me back to Parastou and Ali's ultra romantic and culture filled wedding at the Darlington House in San Diego, CA! This was such a wonderful day and I am loving re-living it through all of the gorgeous photos.
Parastou reached out to me with only a few months to plan her wedding and was absolutely wonderful to work with! Initially, she was incredibly stressed out about the aesthetics and didn't know how to 'dress up' the Darlington House in way that wouldn't feel like a backyard wedding. She loved the uniqueness of the venue and it's garden vibes, but needed to find a way to make it fit with her Persian culture. Let's just say, we made the perfect team and were truly able to balance the multifaceted nature of her wedding.
Come the wedding day, Parastou looked absolutely stunning! I loved her natural makeup, side hairstyle and gorgeous lace gown. The best part? The removable off the shoulder sleeves. It was so simple, but made it feel like she had two different looks.
Once Parastou and Ali were wedding day ready, it was time for their first look, and I have to admit that this might have been my favorite part of the day! Not only was is gorgeous, but it was such a special moment between the two of them, in which they privately exchanged vows. They loved the American tradition, but didn't want to add it into their Persian Ceremony or recite them in front of all their guests.
Their wedding ceremony took place on the Egyptian Patio and was incredibly romantic! All the details, from the stunning sofreye to the elegant floral garland, served as the perfect backdrop for these two. It was a gorgeous, fun and memorable Persian ceremony.
After the ceremony ended, it was time for cocktail hour and we opened up the reception space for an initial round of dancing. And man, this was a dancing group!
When it came to the reception space, Parastou wanted it to feel very elegant and her fear was that it would feel like a backyard bbq wedding. I'm pretty sure we squashed those fears!
In designing the reception space, Parastou chose a timeless color scheme of white, green, gold, and a touch of blush, which was the perfect choice. We then set a mixture of round tables and banquet tables to create a unique aesthetic and covered them with a subtle textured white linen for La Tavola Linen. Then, in order to make it feel more elegant, we added gold chiavari chairs, gold rimmed chargers, gold silverware and gold rimmed glassware. While this was all gorgeous, the floral is what made the reception feel unbelievably romantic! Moments in Bloom was on their 'A game' for this one.
After the first round of dancing ended and dinner started, Parastou and Ali took a brief break and headed out for sunset photos. There were so many fun architectural backdrops surrounding the Darlington House, not to mention that the beach that was in walking distance.
As soon as they returned from photos, it was time to cut the cake. Parastou wanted the cake and the cake table to be a statement piece, and it definitely was! Peggy Liao nailed the cake design and the elegant linen and greenery backdrop perfectly complimented it's design.
