Today we are taking you back to Danielle and Nick's Darlington House wedding in San Diego, CA. From the moment I first met Danielle and Nick, I knew their wedding was going to be amazing! They are such an adorable and fun-loving couple, and I truly enjoyed every minute I spent with them.
When it came to planning the wedding together, Danielle had a pretty good idea of how she envisioned her day, but was also open to a lot of our crazy ideas! When it came the overall aesthetic of the day, she wanted it to feel modern and fresh, and wanted to keep the color scheme very neutral. She was definitely not one for bold colors. From the beginning, her and Nick also wanted to be sure they had great food at the wedding (No 'blah' wedding food!), a pianist playing as guests arrived to the ceremony, and a flamenco guitarist for cocktail hour. They wanted to create a wonderful experience for their guests from the moment they arrived on the wedding day.
CEREMONY:
When it came to the ceremony, we mixed and matched classic cross back bistro chairs with modern and fun velvet chairs. This allowed us to keep the a more neutral aesthetic, while also making it feel more unique and modern.
When it came to the arch, we used a very neutral colored draping and AHR Floral accented it with pops of greenery. Once again, this kept that soft and neutral vibe that Danielle was really wanted for the day.
RECEPTION:
After ceremony and cocktail hour ended, guests were invited to dine in the gorgeous reception space! In order to create more dimension, we used a combination of 8' light wood tables, 16' light wood tables, and round tables with white linen. Each table also had a different combination of floral arrangements and candles, which really added to more uniqueness into the reception space.
As guests took their seats, they found a modern white plate, a taupe napkin, gorgeous menu, and a mixture of marble, milk glass, white and blush glassware. It truly was truly the perfect setting for their delicious dinner from Coast Catering.
Because Danielle and Nick had their wedding at the Darlington House, they chose to take a short break in the day to enjoy each other's company and get some gorgeous photos by the beach at sunset. They turned out gorgeous!
DESSERT:
What is a wedding without dessert?! Danielle and Nick opted out of having a large cake and, instead, chose to provide a small cake for them to cut and an entire dessert bar for their guests. The presentation of the desserts was unbelievable and there wasn't much left here at the end of the night!
