Colorful Darlington House Wedding | Sarah + Hugo

Sarah and Hugo's wedding was such a wonderful day to be a part it! They are such a fun couple and their wedding day truly reflected their personalities and vibe as a couple.

Their ceremony took place at the Immaculata and their reception took place at the Darlington House.

Sarah + Hugo's Story:

"Our engagement story is one of my favorites because it was totally spontaneous and personal. Hugo was taking the Amtrak home from work and was looking out at the coast; he realized that the sunset was particularly beautiful that day. He decided that he wanted to propose to me right then with the sunset, so once he got off the train he ran to his place to get the ring, called me and told me to be ready outside, then picked me up. He drove up to Torrey Pines Cliffs and we walked out to an overlook. I was a bit suspicious so I kept looking at his pockets to see if I could find the box, but he knew I would be looking around so he only had the ring in a pocket. Since the park was about to close, there was no one there. He got down on one knee and asked! It was special and just us and that’s why I loved it. Hugo and I are the perfect fit because our connection was pretty instantaneous. On our first date, we discovered that we had been passing by each other for a while without realizing it. For example, Hugo and I were both sitting near each other at the same concert. Also, Hugo was representing USD at a college fair and met and TALKED to my mom and sister, and that was just a few weeks before we met and started dating so he had no idea who they were. It’s clear that the universe had been trying to link us for a while. In all honesty, we are just two kind people who like doing anything with each other, whether that’s walking around Costco, marathoning Star Wars, or going on 20 miles hikes in the Grand Canyon." - Sarah

Ceremony: The Immaculata

Sarah and Hugo's catholic wedding ceremony took place at the Immaculata. When it came to decor, they kept details fairly simple, as the inside of the church was so incredibly gorgeous on it's own. The catholic ceremony was filled with love, emotion and meaning and was a wonderful piece of the day.

After the ceremony ended, the lovely couple ran through a tunnel of their bridal party and then headed back to the Darlington House to take photos.

Reception: The Darlington House

The wedding reception took place in the Rose Garden at the Darlington House and it served as the perfect backdrop for their fun and bold dinner. When it come to the aesthetic, Sarah chose a color scheme of soft blues, pinks, peaches and yellows and played off of the vintage vibe of the Darlington House. She chose wooden farm tables and cross back chairs and accented them with vintage glassware, plate plates and individual tiled coasters for each guest. To top it all off, Moonlight floral added greenery over the entire dance floor and head table, which added to the garden vintage aesthetic.
