19 Best Colorado Wedding Venues

When couples decide to get married in Colorado, they’re almost always after Colorado wedding venues with beautiful mountain vistas, luscious blue skies, and unforgettable alpine experiences.

We understand the draw — Colorado weddings are the perfect mix of country elegance and mountain-top magnificence, complete with amenities sure to accentuate and enhance the weekend for all guests, start to finish.

So, to make your selection process a little easier, our Colorado wedding planners rounded up some of our favorite options — all of which satisfy at least one (if not all!) of the classic CO wedding criteria. Thinking of going a nontraditional route? Don’t worry. There are still more than enough venues for you. We can’t wait for you to see what we have in store!

Colorado Ranch / Outdoor Wedding Venues

Devil's Thumb Ranch*

Have your cake and eat it too at Devil’s Thumb Ranch. This sprawling, authentic Colorado ranch is the only thing you’ll need to have your guests hootin’, hollerin’, and living large, cowboy style. If you’re bored at Devil’s Thumb Ranch, you’re doing something wrong!

A wedding at Devil’s Thumb Ranch means a celebration with Colorado sensibilities, but elegant touches. The venue only allows one event per weekend, meaning you’ll have the place all to yourself on the big day. Start your weekend at the high-end, full-service resort and spa and end with a farewell Sunday brunch, followed by zip-lining, horseback riding, and more. You can host your full weekend here — start to finish — seamlessly.

In between, of course, hold your ceremony at the expansive Outdoor Meadow (250 guests), right at the foot of the Continental Divide, or perhaps the lush, hillside Outdoor Terrace (250 guests). If neither of those spaces do it for you, try the high-end High Lonesome Barm (250 guests) for both ceremony and reception, or move the latter over to the quaint Broad Axe Barm (160 guests) for an afterparty surrounded by vaulted ceilings, expansive windows, and stunning mountain views.

Spruce Mountain Ranch

Picture this — a sprawling Colorado venue blending ‘rustic’ with ‘elegance,’ all conveniently pitched right outside of Denver. You’re imagining the inimitable Spruce Mountain Ranch, a family-owned wedding and event space with over 450 acres of mountain venue to play with across two separate properties. Whatever you’re looking for, you’re sure to find it here — there’s too many options not to!

Spruce Mountain’s Lower ranch highlights include the cabin-esque Albert’s Lodge, perfect for ceremonies and receptions around 250 guests; the Courtyard, a great option for the couple looking to say ‘I Do’ against the stars and alongside 200 friends and family; and the Mountainside ceremony option, an open meadow area with mountain views for 250.

Or, opt for the Upper Ranch’s magnificent Ponderosa Room, an indoor hall with room for a 1200-person reception; the Lakeview Terrace, an intimate fountain-side gazebo option; or Trey’s Vista, another grassy lawn ceremony or reception space with room for as many as you could possibly imagine.

Piney River Ranch

Situated right on the edge of Piney Lake, Piney River Ranch is your ultimate mountain retreat. Run away to the backcountry wilderness just twelve miles north of Vail Village for a ceremony and reception unlike anything you’ve ever experienced before. It’s the ultimate, high-end getaway offering the fun and excitement of camping without any of the fuss...and all of the glam. Offer guests the opportunity of a lifetime to stay in high-end cabins or tents with private porches and unobstructed Rocky mountain views before celebrating their favorite couple.

Packages accommodate up to 200 guests, and include private use of the ceremony deck, reception pavilion, adjoining cocktail pavilion, two getting-ready suites, tables, seating, and use of nearby horseshoe pits and playground.

Camp Hale

One thing’s for sure — there is absolutely no wedding venue like Vail’s Camp Hale, an intimate, remote venue enveloped by giant mountain ranges, tall trees, and bright blue skies.

The private property’s ceremony “island” is something you’d have to see to believe — an absolutely gorgeous and epic way for any bride to make an entrance over a vast, glassy lake. And for the festivities following, Camp Hale is happy to provide guest tables, chairs, bistro lights and a reception tent alongside a wooden dance floor, wine tables and drapery so you don’t have to worry about it.

For an additional fee, add on extra cabins, transportation, a bonfire, or even a s’mores package in lieu of a wedding cake — the ‘sweet treat’ tradition with a Colorado twist.

Granby Ranch

Get ready for a once-in-a-lifetime day in a once-in-a-lifetime setting (or so they say) — Granby Ranch is your mountaintop ceremony destination with flair.

Ride the chairlift up to the ‘peak’ ceremony site, set in a wildflower-filled grove complete with a private bridal yurt for private finishing touches. Afterwards, guests can relax in Adirondack chairs or play lawn games — cocktail in tow — while they await your arrival back down the mountain. Golf course reception sites are perfected for a tented afterparty, and easy access to golfing, mountain biking, hiking, fishing, and skiing, make day-before and day-after plans a breeze. Friends and family might be coming for your celebration, but they’re staying for a fun-filled mountain vacation.

Barn / Rustic Wedding Venues

The Barn at Raccoon Creek

Looking for a modernized rustic venue that’s inviting, secluded, and — as they put it — “steeped in Colorado history”? Then you must check out the Barn at Raccoon Creek, located on the historic Grant Ranch in Littleton, Colorado. Begin your day in the quaint Bridal Cottage and the man-cave-turned Groom’s Loft, then head out to the ceremony lawn for an intimate ‘I Do’ underneath a wooden pergola. Usher guests to the expansive, landscaped Courtyard for cocktails, lawn games and dancing, or opt for a covered reception in the Barn.

Be sure to explore Raccoon Creek’s picturesque grounds — three historic barns, old growth trees and quintessential Colorado foothills make for a photographer’s paradise. The perfect backdrop for forever portraits.

Strawberry Creek Ranch

Invite up to 200 of your closest friends and family for a celebration at Strawberry Creek Ranch that’s as intimate as it gets — on your wedding day, the entire site is reserved just for you. Nestled in the heart of the Rocky Mountains, Strawberry Creek’s 300 acres are surrounded by scenic vistas, bright blue skies and, at night, sunsets you wouldn’t believe until seen with your own eyes.

Say ‘I Do’ on the lawn around or inside the newly-constructed Outback Barn, then dance the night away on the Homestead Deck, underneath the wide-open, starry skies. And never fear — the team at Strawberry Creek is prepared for mountain nights. A gas fire pit and propane heaters are included in your rental. Not to mention the Outback Barn is fit with giant sliding barn doors for maximum privacy and warmth... or just a plain ol’ grand entrance.

The Woodlands*

The Woodlands Colorado does the impossible — it sees your classic barn wedding and raises it a modern twist, complete with white-washed wood walls and black trim. Sliding doors on either side of the barn lead to a mountain-front ceremony area, and a fully-covered (and heated!) side patio is perfect for cocktails rain or shine. Perfect for the couple that wants a touch of that Colorado barn feel without sacrificing upscale luxury.

Worried you’re too far from civilization to enjoy such a CO gem? Never fear — Woodlands is only 30 minutes from downtown Denver, making travel and coordination a breeze for between 200-245 guests from all over. While you wait for them to arrive, relax and prepare in included bride and groom suits complete with dressing areas, couches, and a TV.

Winter Wedding Venues

Winter weddings in Colorado are breathtaking! But—you'll need the right winter wedding venue with beautiful indoor spaces to keep your guests comfortable. Here are a few of our favorites.

Sonnenalp*

Colorado Rockies, meet the Swiss Alps. The best of the west mixed with the warmest hallmarks of European hospitality and style, the Sonnenalp Hotel is, as they put it, “timeless Vail” — and perfect for that couple that wants to pretend they’re across the Atlantic while still managing to stay stateside.

Weddings at the Sonnealp are one-of-a-kind, and for good reason. Try Ludwig’s Restaurant, an enclosed glass room with a clear, retractable ceiling, perfect for absorbing Colorado’s al fresco beauty. In the winter, it’s almost like you’re in a snowglobe! For something a little more warm in tone, choose the Grand Bavaria Room, or the Stuberl at Ludwigs ballroom, featuring authentic German wooden beams. For an outdoor experience (in the summer, of course), opt for a rustic garden venue or perhaps the cozy Swiss Chalet.

*This is an Always Flawless favorite!

Devil's Thumb Ranch

See the above section for our favorite bits from Devil’s Thumb Ranch. The Broad Axe Barn is a great winter venue!

Unique Wedding Venues

Moss Denver*

Just because you’re in Colorado, that doesn’t mean you can’t opt for an industrial-inspired, modern wedding over one out in the mountains. And Moss Denver, a unique and magical wedding venue, is here to help.

Moss aims to add the fun back into “one-room weddings” by changing set-ups and hiding surprises behind the space’s massive wooden doors. Guests will love the Broadway-show like set changes happening behind the scenes! Moss also goes above and beyond to ensure your indoor environment still has that of a quintessential outdoor one — without the stress or worry of inclement weather. They offer tiered packages based on what you need, and have various rooms (including dressing rooms!) to accommodate up to 300 guests.

*This is an Always Flawless favorite!

Manor House

Question — have you ever dreamed of a private wedding on a gorgeous plot of land that features a magnificent mansion reminiscent of old Southern manors, as well as mountain views? If the answer is yes, then you may have just found your venue.

On your wedding day, the six-acre Manor House is exclusively yours to enjoy. Try an outdoor ceremony against the dramatic and elegant Dry Creek Canyon, or opt for a warmer, more intimate gathering near one the cozy fireplaces. Whatever you’re looking for, you’ll want to add Manor House to your list of places to check out.

Skylight

True to its name, Skylight, a modern gallery that’s perfect for the new age couple, has vast skylights embedded in its ceiling, offering up the perfect dose of elegant natural light for any event. Its white brick walls combined with expertly integrated sunbeams are the perfect blank canvas for any vision — and, in some cases, maybe even decoration enough.

And there’s flexibility to boot. Skylight allows for pets and outside vendors, and even offers 24-hour rentals, so the space is yours from 10am the day of your event until 10am the following day. Check out a virtual tour of the epic space that accommodates up to 200 seated guests (more for cocktail/standing events) here.

Colorado Wedding Venues with Lodging

The Sonnenalp Hotel

See the above section for our favorite bits from the Sonnenalp Hotel. The perfect wedding venue with lodging to host both your guests and your event with ease!

The Broadmoor

The Broadmoor has been on the wedding scene for 98 years, so trust us when we say — they know what they’re doing. You have everything you need at this hotel/venue, whether that's a timeless ballroom or mountain terrace for an indoor celebration or outdoor extravaganza.

Choose from over five different venues — like the impressive Pauline Chapel or the rustic-yet-elegant Cheyenne Lodge — for your ceremony, and seven more for your reception.

The Donald Ross Room is the perfect reception for a small, intimate gathering...and on the other side of the spectrum is the massive, 1,000 guest-accommodating Broadmoor Hall. The Broadmoor even offers “destination experiences,” like a private wedding weekend on the summit of Cheyenne Mountain or a celebration at one of its elegant cottages.

Surf Hotel

As if you weren’t going to Instagram the heck out of your wedding weekend photos already, the Surf Hotel makes a photo dump near impossible to avoid. This boutique hotel in Buena Vista is inspired by Rocky Mountain beauty mixed with European hospitality. It is the perfect trendy mountain retreat to make all your followers green with envy.

Catering, accommodations, and event & party services (sound system, tables and chairs, place settings and linens) are all included in your rental.

Try the private courtyard for a grassy, lawn ceremony or reception surrounded by breathtaking views (and kept warm year-round by a nice wood burning fireplace), or go the indoor route with the modern Ivy Ballroom.

Other options and amenities can be found in their 2022 wedding packet here!

Hotel Jerome

You can’t spell Aspen without Hotel Jerome — no really, you can’t. This luxurious hotel and venue has served as Aspen’s social hub since 1889, and as locals like to say, it’s the place where “all great stories were born and are told.” One of those stories could, of course, be your wedding day. With 99 guest rooms and suites, a 400-person reception capacity, and a prime location just 10 minutes from the Aspen airport, Hotel Jerome is the picture of Aspenian class and elegance.

Set-up in the grand ballroom, room enough for 500 people depending on arrangement, or try for the desirable courtyard for a setting under the stars. For something completely trendy and different (but only suited for smaller events), you have to take a look at Bad Harriet, a sexy underground bar inspired by noir films. And there are more venues to choose where that came from.

Ritz-Carlton Bachelor Gulch

The Ritz-Carlton Bachelor Gulch is your fairytale Beaver Creek resort wedding venue — echoing the traditional storybook setting of “towering trees, blooming flowers and peaceful wildlife.” Here, you have options — plan to say “I do” on a grassy terrace or perhaps in a rustic cabin from the 1900s. If neither of those options tickle your fancy, try the grand ballroom, complete with wrought-iron chandeliers and a warm glow.

Mountain Top Wedding Venues

The Little Nell | Aspen Wedding Deck*

Aspen’s only five-star, ski-in/ski-out hotel, The Little Nell is your perfect cosmopolitan mountain top wedding venue in Colorado. Nestled right in the Rocky Mountains yet just 12 minutes from the Aspen airport, the Little Nell allows for a grand mountain wedding without any of the hassle. Plus, it offers up the best ceremony views in all of Colorado (in our humble opinion). If vistas are what you’re after, look no further!

Perfect for intimate gatherings or large celebrations up to 500 guests, the Little Nell can host your special day — summer, winter, spring or fall. Try the Aspen Mountain Club or the Terrace Room for an indoor extravaganza, or opt for the Wedding Deck or Wedding Overlook if you’d prefer something smack dab in the middle of nature’s finest. Want a bit of both? Never fear. The Sundeck, Gondola Plaza, or Grand Salon are perfect for you.

What’s more, guests can have the ride of a lifetime taking the gondolas up the mountain to your ceremony. Keep any outdoor nuptials simple by opting out of decor — those vistas are gorgeous enough! Or, of course, add a floral arbor to spice things up.

*This is an Always Flawless favorite!

The 10th | Vail Wedding Deck

The 10th is Vail’s newest on-mountain dining experience, designed to capture extravagant mountain views in a classic-yet-contemporary lodge. Enjoy floor-to-ceiling windows that frame gorgeous Gore Range and Vail Valley vistas, and dine on a five-star menu featuring gourmet alpine cuisine and a decadent wine list.

This unique spot accessible by the Vail Village Gondola is perfect for 126-200 guests.

Timber Ridge | Keystone Resort

A spacious mountain lodge, cathedral ceilings, and a two-story fireplace — what else are you looking for in a mountain top wedding? Timber Ridge at Keystone Resort is your ideal wedding destination. Say “I do” on the wooden outdoor deck overlooking the Gore and Tenmile mountain ranges with up to 260 of your closest friends and family. Then, bring the party inside for a rip-roaring reception at the top of North Peak.

San Sophia Overlook | Telluride Ski Resort

The San Sophia Overlook is Telluride’s magnificent, gondola-adjacent wedding and special events site. Set up your ceremony on the wooden deck “perched” at the edge of the ridge, prefaced by a grassy open area. You’ll feel like you’re getting married on the edge of the world!
