Today we are taking to the sea for this romantic, beachy wedding aboard the Hornblower ship: The High Spirits. This fun loving couple chose to do something different for their wedding, and thought a wedding aboard a history filled yacht would be a fun experience for all their out of town guests - and they were right! All of their guests had a blast on the mini cruise, and it was definitely a night to remember!
While the ship itself was decor, Renae still wanted to add some beachy, romantic details to the day in order to make it feel more like a wedding. In order to do this, we first paired up with Compass Floral to create some very elegant, garden-inspired bouquets to set the tone for the day! A mixture of light colored dalhias, roses, greenery and a few bold colored proteas perfectly complimented the bride's dress and set the tone for the day! We then took this same floral and weaved it through all aspects of the day, including the ceremony arch, table decor, place card table and guest book table.
The next step was to conceptualize some fun "beachy" ideas that could be implemented on a yacht. Because the ship was moving, we had to be careful in the types of items we brought on board, as we really had to focus on guests safety. Instead of a traditional guest book table, we created a message in a bottle station, where guests wrote a note for the happy couple to read on their anniversary. The note was then tied up and placed in a large jar for the couple to read on their next anniversay! We also brought in all natural pieces of driftwood for placecards and table numbers and had Four Things Paper work some magic with her stunning modern calligraphy. The placecards also served as a fun take away for guests. Be sure to scroll down to see these fun ideas come to life, and to see more of the fun details from this stunning romanitc yacht wedding!
