Southern Wedding Inspiration

Today we are foregoing "Real Wedding Wednesday" to give you a taste of some Southern Charm, and I promise you will be glad we did! The inspiration for this idea came from visiting Windmill Ranch - one of the many venues from A Perfect Venue For You. While visiting this secluded and tranquil property, I felt like I had been transported to a beautiful estate in the Southern part of the United States, hence the theme of this shoot: Southern Charm.

Over the past few years, I feel like so many weddings and inspirational shoots have encompassed the same themes and styles. In designing this shoot, my goal was to use current and popular wedding looks and styles, and weave them together with well know Southern traditions. You will notice that in every detail of this shoot there is an element of Southern tradition. For example, the bride's attire first consists of a flannel / plaid shirt, pearl necklace and earrings, and then transitions to a large traditional Southern Belle styled dress with a parasol. Ringing a bell for a kiss, the bride's horse, parasols, lemonade, a cigar lounge, burying the bourbon, cake pulls, and an invitation suite with a Southern town are just a few of the additional Southern details you will find throughout the inspirational shoot.
