Tracy + Jason: Romantic Wedding at the Darlington House in La Jolla, California

Updated: Jun 6, 2021

Today I'm excited to be sharing all the pretty details from Tracey and Jason's romantic wedding at the Darlington House in La Jolla, CA. This was such a fun (and gorgeous!) day and I wish we could go back and re-live it!

This adorable couple met at work. They both found each other attractive and knew there was potential, but neither of them were bold enough to make the first move. It was a solid 9-10 month of getting to know each other and spending more time together at work before going on an actual date. After that first date, they become inseparable. As Tracey put it, "It was just one of those things. We had both reached a point in life where we had given up on ever meeting the right person and then, well, there you are. You literally run right into them. I have not stopped thinking about Jason since that first time of bumping into him in the hallway at work. I love him more than I ever thought I could love someone. He really is.. I know this sounds cheesy... but he is perfect. "

It was December 19, 2018 at 9:10pm when Jason finally popped the question. He took Tracey to the Missouri Botanical Gardens 'Garden Glow' for the holidays. It was a fairly warm Missouri night and therefore a super busy night at the gardens. At one point in the evening, Jason and Tracy sat down for a few minutes to simply relax and enjoy the lights. As soon as their was a break in the crowd, Jason got down on one knee and proposed! So sweet and romantic!

When it came time to diving into wedding planning, Tracy and Jason opted for a destination wedding in San Diego, CA. They love San Diego and it just felt like the right fit for them. Planning from afar was a little bit of a challenge for these two, as it wasn't easy to meet with vendors in person, but it ultimately worked out well and Tracy was able to make a few trips out to San Diego during the planning process.

The best part of planning for Tracy? Have multiple excuses to go out to San Diego! She also loved picking out all of the flowers and, of course, the cake tasting.

Now let's take a peak at all the pretty!

Ceremony:

The wedding ceremony took place in the Egyption Patio and proved to be the perfect setting for Tracy and Jason to say 'I Do.' Tracy loved the clean lines of the white arches and opted for a lush arch under the middle arch. The cross back chairs added the right amount of warmth to the aesthetic and were the seats for guests!

Reception:

After the ceremony, Tracy and Jason enjoyed taking photos around the property and guests were escorted into the gorgeous rose garden for dinner. The Rose Garden at the Darlington House was set with wooden farm tables with lush floral runners. My favorite part of each place setting was the custom candle favor. Tracy created a custom candle scent and guests loved taking home this little keepsake!
