Taylor & Kristine's Darlington House Wedding in San Diego, CA

Updated: Apr 25, 2020

Today I'm excited to be sharing alllll the details from Kristine and Taylor's wedding at the Darlington House in San Diego, CA. This understated, yet classy, wedding was such a dream to plan & design, and working with Kristine and Taylor was seriously a blast.

After Kristine and Taylor got engaged and started planning their wedding from a far, they quickly realized that they were in over their head and needed to bring a planner on board. And that's when we jumped into the mix. We started working with Kristine and Taylor nearly a year before their wedding, but due to the distance, didn't actually meet them in person until around 2 months before the wedding. I remember going to our final walk through at Darlington House, and being so excited to finally put a face to the name.

When it came down to the planning, Kristine and Taylor wanted the most help with the aesthetics. This was an important piece for Kristine and she had no idea how to bring her vision to life. From day 1, she had a very good idea of what she wanted and she never once wavered from it. Kristine wanted her dream wedding to be understated, yet classic, with a slightly rustic feel. And when it came to colors, she wanted a neutral and subdued color palette of nudes, whites and earthy tones. I have to admit that I was 100% on board with this look - and it was so fun bringing this to life for her. On the wedding day, I can't tell you how many people told me that the day was 'sooooo Kristine!' That right there is always my goal. I want a wedding to truly feel like the couple who are getting married.

When it came to the wedding day, Kristine looked absolutely stunning in her all lace gown and half up hair style. If you ask me, her look perfectly matched the day - Classy and romantic, yet someone casual and boho at the same time. As for the bridesmaids, Kristine wanted them to be comfortable and allowed them to each pick their own dresses. I have to admit, they did a great job and looked gorgeous standing along side Kristine!

Ceremony:

For the ceremony, guests congregated in the Egyptian Patio and watched Kristine and Taylor say 'I Do,' in front of an over sized wooden arch adorned with lush floral. This was truly the perfect setting for their meaningful ceremony and perfectly set the tone for the day.

Cocktail Hour:

After the ceremony ended, guests were free to enjoy cocktail hour, where they were met with delicious drinks and appetizers. They were also pleasantly surprised to find a fortune teller set up in the middle of the patio, and guests were able to take turns in learning what the future held for them.

While guests were busy there, Kristine and Taylor made their way over to the beach a few blocks away for some stunning photos. This allowed them to have a little bit of 'alone' time added to the 'relaxed' vibe of the day.

Reception :

Once Kristine and Taylor made it back from the beach, guests were invited to sit down for dinner in the gorgeous rose garden. Here they were greeted my light wood tables, stunning floral and lots of candles. It was truly the classic, rustic and understated look Kristine and Taylor were wanting.

Once all the guests were in their seats, Kristine and Taylor made their grand entrance and kicked off the party! As much as the Kristine loved the details, what truly mattered to them was the experience, and they couldn't wait to dance and enjoy the day with all of their family and friends!
